Online Creative Writing Programme (Ages 12 to 14) – October 21

My next online creative writing programme for this age-group will be held in April 2022.
My online creative writing programmes are conducted just twice a year – in April and in October. Each course is 12 weeks long and comprises twelve online interactions and access to a private, secure forum, where participants share work and provide feedback to one another. In this sense, it is an intensive programme that requires participants to log in at least four times a week, write regularly and participate actively on the forum. In addition to weekly assignments, participants are encouraged to share relevant ideas and opinions at each stage.
If I have a minimum of four participants for each batch, I also organize guest sessions, which are open to non-participants on payment of a registration fee, but free for those who are part of my programmes. Outline
- Creative non-fiction – What is creative non-fiction? How do we create engaging book reviews, blog posts, travelogues and even books? We’ll work with different forms of creative non-fiction, developing our understanding of structure and voice.
- Plays – Drama is a great way to explore show, don’t tell, one of the ground rules of creative writing. Working with exercises, plays and powerful speeches, we will examine the ways in which writers choose words to create emotion and impact.
- Stories – Everyone loves stories, and honing the craft of story writing never ends. As we explore genres of fiction, we will work on both mentor-led and learner-led activities to work actively on dialogue, narrative voice, structure and plot.

As I would like to wind up before Christmas, once registrations close, we will work together to choose a day when we can have an extra class to make up for the one that falls on Diwali, the 3rd of November.
