Character Design: An Art Workshop

Have you noticed how villains tend to have long, hooked noses? Or how superheroes and dancers have accentuated chests? Just like in writing, archetypes often determine how a character is drawn, and that’s what we will be exploring during our next workshop with animation film designer and illustrator Priyankar Gupta. For those who’ve been part of my book clubs, we’ve read two books he’s illustrated – Trouble with Magic and A Pinch of Magic!
Priyankar Gupta is a pre-visualizer and a creative consultant in the field of media, advertising and broadcast design. He has worked with various publishing companies across the globe as an illustrator for children’s books and books for young adults. He has been a mentor in various design schools across the country, teaching various forms of visual narratives. Currently, he is part of the faculty at the Digital and Media Arts in Srishti Manipal Institute.

About the Workshop
Discover the art of character design through a workshop focusing on “Nose-Chest-Pelvis” personalities. Delve into crafting characters by exploring the traits and emotions associated with these key body parts.
This workshop on character design is a guest session at my online creative writing programme, and is free for all my current participants. However, a few seats are also available to non-participants on payment of a fee. Sign up right away because this time, I have 23 students across my writing programmes, and they always get first preference! This means that there are only two more seats available!
