Top 14 Picture Books I Read in 2020

January 7, 2021 by Varsha Seshan Leave a Comment

I read so many picture books each year that I’m sure I’ve missed out at least a few that I read and loved in 2020. Also, I find it difficult to review picture books in detail, so this is just a list, with links to earlier posts I wrote about the books, or, in the case of books I read on StoryWeaver, links to the books themselves.

The Manasa Series

I love meeting the same character again and again, so the Manasa series is special!

  • Manasa Finds a Rainbow
  • A Hairy Problem
  • Who’s That in the Mirror?

Art is Everywhere

Imaginative and fun – I love all three books in this series too!

  • Art is Everywhere – Here, There and in Everyday Objects
  • Art is Everywhere – Here, There and in Food
  • Art is Everywhere – Here, There and in Trash

More Books on StoryWeaver

This is a random assortment, including a wordless picture book and one book in Hindi!

  • Ikru’s First Day of School
  • सबक
  • The Right Way School

Pickle Yolk Books

Somehow, last year, I read lots of books published by Pickle Yolk. Though I loved them all, here are a few that stood out. The links here lead to my reviews of the books.

  • Machher Jhol
  • The Tree Boy
  • Giggi and Daddy
  • Boo! When My Sister Died

There’s just one book left on my list, an award-winning book that doesn’t fit into any of the categories above. I read and loved Neel on Wheels!

I hope to read many more books this year; do share any recommendations you may have!
